Discover a better way to add hierarchical data
The traditional way of adding sub-reports is cumbersome, does not scale well, and is a pain to maintain. Instead of having a single report, you end up with multiple reports that need to be synchronized.
We streamline everything. Here's how...
Adding a new level of hierarchal data is as simple as dragging and dropping a list and adding fields on top of it.
In the animation above, you can see that the report has more hierarchical data as the stack of lists increases.
This means;
- No multiple reports to maintain
- Straightforward workflow
- Less memory footprint
What about parameters?
By default, primary keys are used as parameters in hierarchical data. Therefore, in most use cases, users don't need to take any action. However, users can use field values as parameters if they wish to. In such scenarios, all a user needs to do is go to the parameter edit dialog and pick and choose which combination of primary keys and field values to use as parameters.
Do you know that you can...
As an example, we can have a report that shows the sales performance of employees within a certain period with three levels of hierarchical data. The first level is the employee, the second level is the category sold by the employee, and the third level is the product within each category.
